Spring is on its on its way; you can smell it in the air, feel it in way the evenings are shedding their darkness and hear it on the stereos of the kids at the beaches. One such track had caught my attention this week, walking home after the show this weekend and I want to share it with you all immediately.
This sun kissed hip-hop mixtape has been produced by Seattle soul hero Sol who’s been making music for the last decade sharing stages with the likes of the Wu-Tang Clan, Big Sean, Mac Miller and The Pack. It’s classic 90′s rap music with deeper soul influences that warm up the overall feel and add that unmistakable sound of summer. Lyrically there’s a touch of Prince present and a good dose of De La Soul to keep things bouncing. Easy beats, cheeky enough to you get grooving yet soulful enough to keep you smilin’.
